PYC Provincial Youth Conference

Provincial Youth Conference in Aringgay, La Union is another conference where the youths have fun and learning. We had some games like volleyball,badminton and basketball. It was so amazing to watch and my vocal chord hurt because I'm always yelling but it's okay because we won. We had also the Acapela in which there were no instruments except for your voice, dance competition in group and individual. That was so exciting because they are good in dancing and they exert their effort very much. I'm so happy because I had the chance to be part of the Northwestern Luzon team especially the people whom I know.

Special Article: Under the Sea

Under the Sea is such a nice opportunity for us because it is free and it is so nice. Imax is such a wonderful place to hang out and to watch. Being under the sea, I saw a lot of sea creature, some are cute but some are scary. While waiting for the movie, there were people who won two cell phones and unluckily I didn't get it.

During the movie, I can see hopw fascinating it is to be under the sea. To see how wonderful it is that God gave us. We have to take care of it so that the remaining species will live and can multiply. Having an idea about it will give us knowledge that some sea creature are harmful but some are harmless. Jim Carrey as the one who is talking on the movie is somehow funny. He tells about the sea creature and he is joking on what does that creature is doing.

The sea lion are so cute and also the jelly fish but even though they are cute outside, they are hiding something inside of them. Like tentacles for the Jelly fish. Turtles are the one who are eating the jelly fish, they closed their eyes as they eat to avoid the tentacles of the jelly fish. Some fish have different appearances that they can hide among the stones, sea plants and even under the sand. This is their way to catch smaller fish as their food.

Sharks are the one that is being afraid of by people because of its sharp teeth that they can eat even people. The sting ray that has a long tail and like a bird as it swims is so big. It hides under the sand so that it will not be notice as the fish past by. When the other fishes are hatching, they will leave their eggs alone and let it grow and the mother fish will die as they hatch their egg. Some fish do not live long.

But in some bodies of water like the lake, there are lakes that is dirty and the fishes can't eat anything from it because the sea plants are already dead. We have to discipline ourselves for them to live peacefully. The corals act as the home of the fishes and we have to protect it from disastrous acts because fishes needs home for them to stay. We are the one who are responsible of our nature so we have to give importance to it.

Knowing all about this makes me a little bit nature lover in terms of bodies of water. Many sea creature are dangerous so we have to be careful of it. Under the Sea makes you realize how important it is to us. They provide us food to eat, adventure and a place to see how wonderful to be under the sea.

Yael Yuzon and Chris Cantada of Sponge Cola

Ysmael Yrastorza Yuzon, younger brother of Yanni Yuzon of Pupil, graduated English Literature at Ateneo de Manila University. We all know that he is the lead singer of Sponge Cola. And Chris Cantada is their drummer before. Their band is totally awesome.

For your Information, these two are both part of YFC. They join YFC when they are still in high school. They attended the 13th ILC in Naga and their they said that they are YFC. The people are screaming when their band play and when Yael is singing. Some went up on the stage and take a picture with him. Some hold his hand and they are so hyper that after the band played, some are arguing that Yael is theirs.

It is so fun that night because all the YFCs incuding the band are jamming and having some bonding. We didn't sleep that night and after the ILC, all of us are K.O. because of lack of sleep. But the fun, experience,excitement and the love of God, we felt it as we go home. The long hours of trip is over and the memories, friendship and learning that we have experience, it will be in our heart and it will always be part of our life.

Life of the Facilitators

GIRL'S ROOM

Facilitators, it is not easy to be a facilitator. Infact, it is a hard task if you are assigned to be a facilitator. You should be the role model who are younger than you. You will be the leader among your group because two facilitator will be assigned each group. You should be open to your group so that the participants will also open up within the group. Just by merely llistening to them, they will appreciate it because you are interested on what they are saying.

Like during breakfast, lunch and dinner time, you should be always with them and have fun so that they won't feel sad especially the participants because they don't know yet who are their group mates. You are the one who will look and guide in your group. In praying, facilitators should ask within the paeticipants who will pray the opening prayer and also the closing prayer. In this way, they will have the self confident and being shy will soon be vanished.

Do you know how and where do the faciliators sleep? Just like I have said, it is not easy to be a facilitator. When we are about to sleep, we will have a short meeting even though we are very tired and sleepy. We have our own pillow and blanket but the bed? We don't have one. We just have the "Banig" and we even just place our blanket on the floor and that will be our bed.

Some faciliators are sleeping while they are sitting and worst some are not sleeping anymore and that is the way on how and where we sleep. We sacrifice it just for the paeticipants. Of course, the paticipants have more comfortable place to sleep and their room are even air condition.

In the morning, we will have a short worship and a prayer then we will wake up the participants. They will be our first concern. And when it is time for us to have one to ones with our participants, whatever we talk about, it should not be open to everyone but it will be always between you and your participants. We are not allowed to advise them because we are not the one who will actually make decisions for them. We will ask them among the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit and this will be their guide for them to their problems.

We are the one who sacrifice for the participants to have a comfortable venue. But as the days past, these participants will also do what does a facilitator is doing.

Gawad Kalinga

GK 1MB, isang Milyong Bayani. YFC, CFC and also SFC are helping in building houses for those people whose houses were destroyed by the storm or even hurricane. We are helping them, to build their houses for them to have a home. We are not force to do it, we are willing to do it. We don't expect for any exchange for what we do because we love to help people for them to have a comfortable life. We enjoy building houses even though we will get tired and we will have body pain after the long work we've done but it will be worth it.

In building houses, it is so very fun especially when you are with your friends and even with the "Tito's" and "Tita's" because they are the one who supervise what we are doing and they are having fun with us while we are doing our own work. We know in the first place that it will be so hard, that we will be under the sun, carrying blocks and painting but think of it, if it is so hard to do it and to help other people, how much more with the work of God? It will be more tiring than just building a house for other people.



In helping other people, you should not expect something in return because your objective will be just helping and expecting. Like us, the Youth, we are more in helping than expecting. It is not just by merely working hard but it is the fun and the excitement that you will feel after you built a house. And you will not expect that you can do it and you won't believe that after the tiring days, you have just built a house and help a family who needed it.


This is a big challenge for all the youth if they can do the same work like the YFC, CFC and SFC are doing. The life that you have is not a reason for you not to do it, if you are willing you can do it for the sake of others. Like God, he is willing to help people who deserve to be help by Him. Helping and serving other people is a big task to do because you are helping others and also God to solve their problems.

KIDS FOR CHRIST- Fun and Worship

This video is one of the International Kids Village. It is the 12th Ikv and this was held in Laguna last May 2009. These kids were so energetic and they had fun so much. As you can see, many kids are part of KFC, can you beleive it? How much more in other countries?

As you can see, the kids know how to worship God. This video is in other country and it is so amazing that kids know how to worship God. And this will improve as they get older and when they join YFC.

Calling all KFC!!!

You are probably wondering why am I calling the KFC.

KFC mean Kids For Christ! As early as 4 years old up to 12 years old, we are encouraging all the kids to join Kid's camp for them to know who really God is. Having kid's camp is so fun because the kids are so cute and they are so cooperative with us. During the talks, the speakers should be jolly and they should be able to put in the mind of the children what does the speaker is talking about.

Some talks are about how did Adam and Eve commit sin. This talk was act out by the other facilitators so that the children will understand it better. Even though it is a serious talk, they make it as a fun acting because we are dealing with children and so that they will not easily get bored. They are participating well and they really want to know more about God. Facilitators are friendly that even the kids want to be with them all the time.

The theme of their camp should be attractive to them because this will make them happy. The"Ate's" and "Kuya's" should approach them during lunch time or when the kids are alone so that they will know them better and have new friends even though they are older than them.

Having bonding time with them, you will know if they are enjoying the camp, if they are learning from the talks that they had.

Entertainmet should be always present in camps because this will make the whole camp alive. And especially for the kids, they will enjoy it so much because they are part of it. They can act, sing and dance in front of the other kids. By this kind of event, they can show to others their talents and skills and they can develop self confidence. They are not shy anymore to perform infront of other people.

Not all the kids are interested in this kind of stuff but a lot of kids want to know God and what did He do for us. These kids are so magnificent that they have decided to join this organization without hesitation. Some are interested because the kids that had the camp are telling to others that they had a great camp, that they enjoy a lot and knowing God is so interesting.

And if you know, Makisig Morales is a KFC. He attended a conference which is the IKV or so called International Kids Village in Baguio City. He is part of it and he sung in front of the people. The kids are gathered around and they want to take pictures from him. It was a great shock for everybody that Makisig is part of the Kids for Christ. The kids were so lucky to see him in person. The IKV that was held, there are a lot of games and activites that they had. They had games, dancing and singing contest.

Lakas ng pagbabago-music

This music is all about the youth. It says that the youth is the hope of the country. That we can change our country and God is with us to change it.

Listen to it and you will understand the message of it.

Do you Dare??

Do you dare to be a 100% pure???

There are a lot of YFC who dares to be a 100% pure. It means that you never smoke, never drink, you are a smoke free and you wait for your true love.

Are you one of them? Being one of them is quite hard but maybe for others, they are happy because for some, they do not have Bf/Gf that's why they have a full service with God. Being a 100% pure is hard to do because others are tempt to do wrong things. But some are so faithful that since birth they do not have any relationships with others except friends and of course with God.

But even though some are not 100% pure, they are still serving God at full service without doubt. Service to others is more important than dating first before God. One time we had a game in school and we also have a yfc meeting and I said that I have to watch it and my YFC leader said, God or the Game? And I think that he's right because it's just a game. That certain phrase reminds me all the time whenever I do something.

It has a great impact in me and because of that, I will give my full service to others even though I'm not that 100% pure. And serving Him makes my day satisfied.

YFC acitivity- Pyramid Plastic Cups

The rule:


You are group into 3 and you should think your own way on how to form the plastic cups into pyramid using rubber band.



This activity was so hard to do because if one plastic cup will fall, the other cups will surely follow and you are just using a rubber band for you to form. This will take you a lot of time and effort to make all the cups to stand and not to fall.

By just making the cup stand is really hard so you have to work hard on it. This game will make you trust your team mates and have the hope that you and your group will make it.


During the last piece, we are very excited to finish it because all of our hard works are done and it feels so good that we have done something right and we did not give up.


The goal of the activity is to have trust, hope and faith that you can make it. After that, we had a meeting about it.
We said that the activity is really hard but it takes time for us to make it on the top. A lot of patience is needed to fulfill it.


This game is a trial and error game. You will not finish it without trying it and fulfilling it. Giving up into something is not the solution and you can't escape from it. The best way to do is to try it, solve it and make it work.

Youth Camps

Youth Camps are the most awaited part of the Yfc because it is time again to serve other people and tell more about God. in this way, we can show to them how faithful are we to God and even we have so many things to do, we serve other first before we do other things.


Yfc are so full of service especially the people who are in need. When we are having youth camps, we make sure that everything is well prepared, the venue is clean and peaceful and we make sure that all of the participants will be comfortable. It is so hard to plan for a youth camp but all of the hard works that we do, we are satisfied.


Speakers will be introduced and all the facilitators who volunteer to serve and the first speaker must be jolly so that the participants will enjoy their first night and they will think for what they will do the next day.


Reflection is the most solemn part of the camp because this is the part that you will be crying because the speaker will tell something that hurts the feelings of the participants and when they are hurt it means it is true that you've done wrong on that particular situation.


And there will be a pray over that will be done so that the holy spirit will be with you always to guide you.And the worship will be introduced to the campers so that they know and they will see on how to worship God and how does a Yfc worship Him.


And after the reflection, of course there will be an event that all of you, by team, will perform. Anything you do and whatever you do. This is the entertainment night so that after the reflection, it will be a night that you will enjoy very much. Your talents will be seen and will be discover by them. And for the last day, there will always be a mass that will be held.


Having youth camps, you will feel the fun, friendship, faith, freedom and you will get to know the people whom you do not know before and you will have some bonding time with each other and you will get to know them better. After the youth camp, you will have new friends, tell to others that it is such a great weekend and the most important is, you get to know more about God.

YFC I Worship YOU my GOD!!

Worship is the best part in YFC especially in conferences because all youth are gathered around the music starts to play and we raise our hands to worship God.

It is so amazing because we feel the Love of God that He sacrifice Himself for us.

As we raise our hands, we sing the song and we close our eyes. As we worship God, we are thinking that we are so lucky to know Him that well and that we are the Few who chose by God to serve Him and the other people. As a YFC, we are ready to serve other people like the service that God gave to us.

By worshipping Him, my service to others and my faith to Him is becoming stronger. The song that I hear, I can feel it inside of my heart, start to raise my hand and ready to worship Him.
